Five friends from interstate arranged to meet in Adelaide for a wine tour of the famous Barossa Valley.

After a leisurely pickup from Adelaide City, a quick stop for coffee and a drive through the Southern Barossa wine region, we arrived at the Jacobs Creek Visitor Centre, where the wine tour group enjoyed learning about the region and ensured that everything on the wine list was sampled!

The wine tour moved to Torbreck, where a selection of premium wines were enjoyed in the relaxed and intimate cellar door and garden surroundings, followed by a mouth-watering lunch of Barossa local produce at Maggie Beers Farm Shop, whilst sitting in a sun trap by the lake.

A quick visit to Tscharke for further tasting and then onto the historic Seppeltsfield Winery for coffee and wine tastings satisfied everyone’s’ requirements.  Finally, a visit to the boutique Rockford winery, where the fine range of Barossa wines were enjoyed – in particular their signature Basket Press Shiraz.

With a beautiful sunset hanging over the vines, we headed back to the City – with some singing whilst others took a much needed nap.

A good day and an awesome Barossa wine tour was had by all!
